WHO WE ARE
Formed two years ago we are a club that plays Petanque or French Boules. Many of you may have seen the game played on holiday in France and Spain and it is easy to get involved once you have a set of three boules.
We organise weekly boules sessions on Mondays and Saturdays for those that work and those that are retired. Training for newer people is given to increase skill levels. During the year we organise competitions for singles, doubles and triples teams. Some members enjoy the competitive element and some enjoy the social part of the game which usually ends with a coffee in the local café.
We actively support inclusion of all ages, strengths and social backgrounds. The game is very sociable and prevents isolation and helps people who otherwise have no other outlet to mix in the community.
We can help you learn the game and it is easy and suitable for all. We have spare sets of boules to get you started and before you know where you are you will be enjoying the competitive element of the game and hopefully will move on to competitions with other groups. We meet at 10.30am Saturday and Monday except for the 2nd Monday when we meet at 2.00pm
Anyone who likes ball games and has a good eye to place a ball beside a jack is more than welcome to join.
