The National Biodiversity Data Centre is running a countrywide survey for Dragonflies and Damselflies in 2022. This is a Citizen Science project funded by the Environmental Protection Agency and is a great way for the public to get involved in biodiversity data collection in their local area while contributing to a nationwide project that will update our knowledge of Irish Dragonfly and Damselfly distribution while looking at these species as indicators of Climate Change and Water Quality.
They are also running public workshops in Dragonfly and Damselfly identification and survey techniques this spring and summer. Full details of workshops and how to book are available on https://biodiversityireland.
