WHO WE ARE
ALONE is a national organisation that supports and empowers older people to age happily and securely at home. We support individuals and their families, work with other organisations, and campaign nationwide to improve the lives of older people. We work with all older people, including those who are lonely, isolated, homeless, living in poverty, or are experiencing other difficulties. We support them through these challenges to help them find long term solutions.
ALONE offers a range of services, all tailored around the older person’s needs. Our services include;
Visitation Support and Befriending – weekly volunteer visits and practical supports.
Telephone Support– daily telephone calls and information and practical supports.
Coordinated Support – one point of contact to help overcome any barriers, however small, to ageing at home.
Age-friendly Housing – provides age-friendly housing to older people.
BConnect – provides technology, training and knowledge to agencies, older people and their families
ALONE promote social inclusion by offering direct core services such as befriending and telephone support to people aged 60 and older. Our volunteers and staff support older people to engage with activities and events in their local community. As part of our support plans developed with the older people we actively engage with other organisations local to the older person that promote social inclusion to increase choice and wellbeing for the older person.
