WHO WE ARE
DLR Integration Forum – Many Voices, One Vision, Joint Actions
“We are a forum of people from around the world who live in the County of Dún Laoghaire – Rathdown interested in integration”. DLR Integration Forum is a network of individuals, migrant led organisations and groups based in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County. DLRIF works in partnership with Local Authority, NGO-s, and individuals to promote and to facilitate the integration of immigrant communities in the County. The Forum brings different communities together to act as one voice and promotes active engagement between immigrants and the receiving community in local projects. DLRIF serves for information exchange, community involvement and cooperation – immigrant integration related matters at local level. All Forum members are volunteers and the Forum is supported by dlr County Council, Southside Partnership and the DLR PPN.
DLR Integration Forum promotes integration, networking and social inclusion within new communities in the county of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown. The Forum encourages people from different countries and continents who have made Ireland their home to greater interactions with local communities and building bridges between them. The Forum creates opportunities for dialogue, meetings and participation by conducting various projects such as:
courses for people from different nationalities living in DLR (Discovering Ireland & Dún Laoghaire and Discovering Ireland & Dundrum);
events promoting integration and migrants contribution to the community (local Citizenship Ceremony);
initiatives promoting active civic participation of migrants and naturalised Irish citizens living in the DLR county (Vote projects);
raising public awareness and promoting migrant integration at different events throughout the County (dlr Age Well Expo, dlr Festival of Inclusion, etc.)
The Forum works closely with dlr Social Inclusion Unit in organising activities promoting inclusion and immigrant integration in the County.
