WHO WE ARE
Dun Laoghaire Active Retirement Association has 125 members. We usually have a members’ meeting on the last Friday of the month (except this month as we have a group holiday in Waterford), at 2.00 pm. All activities take place in the Boylan Centre, Sussex Street, Dun Laoghaire. New members are welcome.
Our activities consist of Bridge, Indoor Bowls, Exercise classes, Creative Writing, Arts & Crafts, Hiking, Drama, Discussion Group, Theatre visits, Day Trips and Holidays.
DLARA will participate in the “Life before Social Media” event on Friday 11 October 2019, 2.30 to 4.00 pm in the Boylan Centre.
We are planning to meet with some of the young people from Crosscare Youth Service to talk about how older people grew up in the era before mobile phones, iPads and social media. We are hoping to create an understanding between the members of the Active Retirement and the younger people of Crosscare Youth Service about life before and after social media.
