Free Governance Training

Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Volunteer Centre in partnership with Carmichael Centre and sponsored by Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Public Participation Network and Airfield are running three free sessions on governance for local groups.

What’s involved?

The webinars are an hour long, delivered via video link by the Carmichael Centre. This will be followed by a short round table governance discussion over refreshments, facilitated by the local Volunteer Centre (VC).

The webinar topics will cover the six principles of the new Charities Regulator Governance Code, which all charities are expected to adopt from 2020. These sessions are open to all involved in running charitable organisations and will be of particular interest to trustees and managers of community and voluntary organisations.

The Three Sessions

1. Good Governance: Advancing your charitable purpose and behaving with integrity (Principle 1 & 2), Wed 11th Sept 1:45 – 3:30pm

2. Good Governance: Leading People and Exercising Control (Principle 3 & 4), Wed 9th Oct, 1:45 – 3:30pm.

3. Good Governance: Working effectively, and being accountable and transparent, (Principle 5 & 6) Wed 13th Nov, 1:45 – 3:30pm.
