The Priorities Fund of the Church of Ireland

Since 1980, the General Synod Priorities Fund (generally known as the Priorities Fund) has supported projects within the Church of Ireland. Every parish is asked to contribute to the Fund and the amount raised is allocated to the following categories:

  • Training – Lay and Ordained
  • Christian Education
  • Outreach Initiatives
  • Innovative Ministry in a Rural Context

The Priorities Fund Committee recommends allocations to the Standing Committee for approval. The commitment to Growth, Unity and Mission are reflected when applications are assessed. There is a particular emphasis on:

  • People rather than buildings
  • New projects rather than recurrent expenditure
  • Mission and Outreach rather than maintenance
  • Projects and programmes rather than structures

Closing date for applications is 31 October for more information Click Here
