There are two separate schemes under the 2020 Town & Village Renewal Scheme.

1. Accelerated Measure in response to Covid-19.

There are two distinct rounds for this measure – closing dates for receipt of Expressions of Interest are (Round 1) the 25^th of June and (Round 2) the 9^th of July.  Funding is up to a limit of €25,000 per project and up to €40,000 in exceptional cases.  Link to outline here.

1. Town & Village Renewal Scheme 2020

Closing date for receipt of Expressions of Interest is the 9^th of July.  Funding is up to a limit of €100,000 per project and up to €200,000 in exceptional cases.

This year the scheme has a particular emphasis on projects that will support the economic and social recovery of rural towns and villages in response to Covid-19.  The scheme outlines a comprehensive list of other activities that will be eligible for projects to benefit rural towns and villages.

The scheme is administered by the local authority.  An application is submitted by the local authority to the DRCD for approval following receipt of Expressions of Interest from interested local groups.

In previous years this LA has invited expressions of interest in respect of rural towns and villages such as the villages of Kilternan, Glencullen, Stepaside, and Sandyford Village Centre.  Link to outline here.
