The Department of Environment, Climate and Communication & Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals for voluntary membership of the renewed Irish Bioeconomy Forum.
Established in October 2020, the Irish Bioeconomy Forum aims to promote, support and advocate for the sustainable development of the bioeconomy in Ireland in line with the progression of a circular economy, climate action and a climate-neutral, sustainable, and innovative agri-food system. It is part of the formal national consultative structure put in place to support bioeconomy implementation in Ireland.
During its initial mandate, the Forum published a number of expert reports and contributed directly to the Bioeconomy Action Plan 2023-2025. The Forum is supported by an Expert Advisory group representing Irish Higher Education Institutes and Research Performing Organisations.
The renewed Irish Bioeconomy Forum will operate until the end of the current Bioeconomy Action Plan timeline, and we hope to bring together Forum members on 4th March 2024 for a first meeting.
Applications
Membership of the Forum is limited, and expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals representing primary producers, industry, community groups, NGOs, innovation clusters and semi-state bodies should apply through our online
Closing Date
The closing date and time for receipt of expressions of interest is 6pm on Monday, 12 February 2024.
