Dun Laoghaire Harbour Trail

Over 200 years of stories surround the iconic harbour of Dún Laoghaire. On Wednesday, 6th of September 2023, a new trail was launched to bring some of these stories of courage, craftmanship, commemoration and the Crimean war to life. The trail consists of 10 key points of interest along the coast and down the iconic east pier & also captures some of the best views of Dublin Bay. The new trail also complements the newly launched Dublin Coastal Trail.

At the launch An Cathaoirleach Cllr Denis O’Callaghan remarked

” Approximately one million people walk & visit the east pier of Dun Laoghaire annually. This new trail seeks to enhance the experience of visitors by bringing to life the stories of how the pier was built and why it’s so historically significant”

The development of this new trail has been supported by Fáilte Ireland as part of the Destination Towns Programme which seeks to encourage visitors to discover Dublin and spend longer in its towns & villages.
