Module 2: Influencing the policies and practices of Local Government (16th of November)

From this module participants will develop a clearer understanding of the best approaches for PPN nominees and other community representatives to influence the work of Councils, what approaches tend to work best and how your present the most compelling case for policy, administrative or funding changes.
It will look at the (Urban) Planning processes which has historically been the most open aspect of Council engagement with the community but which is not well understood by communities. Freedom of information and the Lobbying Act will also be examined.

This course is being delivered by Senan Turnbull, former director of community, culture and sports for Fingal County Council.
