On Wednesday 14 December, East Midlands Caro in partnership with Urban Foresight and The Wheel will be launching a major training a mentoring programme for communities in the wider Midlands region called Eastern and Midlands Enabling Roadmap for the Green Economy” (EMERGE). The “Eastern and Midlands Enabling Roadmap for the Green Economy” (EMERGE) project is designed to empower local communities to meet the challenges posed by Ireland’s transition to a climate-proofed economy and resilient society.

The EMERGE programme will engage with impacted communities in the wider Midlands, including East Galway, Kildare, Laois, Longford, North Tipperary, Offaly, Roscommon and Westmeath. Drawing on the region’s unique heritage and resources, EMERGE will help local communities take ownership of the new opportunities created by climate action, access funding, and own the economic, social and environmental future of the region.
