The Commission on Taxation and Welfare has been tasked by government to independently consider how best the taxation and welfare systems can support economic activity and promote increased employment and prosperity in Ireland.
The Commission wants to hear from as many people, groups and organisation as possible to ensure that a diverse range of experiences and perspectives inform the development of the report of the Commission, which is due to be presented to the Minister for Finance in July 2022.
You don’t need to be an expert on tax and/or welfare policy for your opinion to be valued.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Open Public Meetings on either 2 or 9 March 2022.
Both meetings will be identical, so please choose whichever date is more convenient to you.
Participants will include:
§ Prof. Niamh Moloney: Chair of the Commission on Taxation and Welfare and Head of the Department of Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
§ Anne Gunnell: Director of Tax Policy & Representations at The Irish Tax Institute.
§ Ita Mangan: Barrister and former Chair of the Citizens Information Board, Chair of the Board of Age and Opportunity, Member of the Board of the Irish Hospice Foundation. She was also formerly Chair of the Advisory Group on Tax and Social Welfare.
