River Basin Management – Public Meeting

A significant number of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown rivers and streams are failing to meet good water quality standards.
The main causes are urban wastewater, surface water run-off, and physical changes to our rivers (Hydromorphology). Poor water quality harms public health, wildlife, and local water amenities. Flooding and drought because of climate change are also major factors that need to be considered.

The Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO) is hosting this public meeting on the Draft River Basin Management. It will include both an overview of the national plan and local information on Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown

There will be two brief presentations, followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion on any of the issues raised. There will also be guidance on how to make a submission on the Draft River Basin Management Plan for Ireland 2022 – 2027.
