This workshop covers the role of local authorities; what local authorities do and how they do it; decision making structures in local authorities; roles of elected members, the CEO and senior management staff; and how local authorities interface with local communities.

Liam Scollan

Liam has headed up a state body whose work was to seek to influence policies across a range of government departments. He is an effective advocate and communicator and has won a national award for public sector communications. He devotes his work now to the not-for-profit sector providing a wide range of training supports and including community consultation and leadership development in the sector. He is an experienced educator and facilitator and designs all his sessions to be inclusive, interactive and fun.
